Here Be Dragons: Constraints as a Tool to Explore and Challenge
Joe Beckwith and Elliott Williams, All Joking A Salad

Level: Intermediate/Advanced

Creativity flourishes under constraint, and oftentimes pushes us outside of our predictable ways of thinking. This workshop will use restrictions to force you to breakthrough your self-imposed restrictions, and into a world of the enjoyably unexpected.
|
A strange physical chemist/improviser hybrid, Joe has been doing both physical chemistry and improvised comedy for 8 years. He has performed in two shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival (and directed another), innumerable shows in Durham and Cambridge, and has trained with such delightful people as Alistair Linsell (Frank), Rhys Collier (DNAYS, The FA) and Lyndsay Hailey (iO, Magic Mike Live).
|
When not obnoxiously taking selfies in the mountains, or duly navigating the scientific publishing seas, Elliott can be found practising his wit, cuts and “yes, and”s in preparation for the next show with The Catalyst. At this festival you will see him perform twice!
